I can honestly say that no one has ever called me "normal"! That is just fine with me! God created me to stand out, be different, be weird, and not blend in with the world.

There are definately many personalities floating around in my mind. This makes for quite an interesting day with me! It is "Grand Central Station" up there! I have even 'named them'! (Don't send in the troops just yet)

The great thing about having such diversity is that there is never a dull moment with me! I always make sure that heading up this little party in my mind is the Lord God Himself!

God has shown me how to embrace the 'fun' inside me and use it to better His Kingdom! I have found that I don't have to be a 'stick in the mud' to be a Christian. I am a child of God! I am a Chrsitian! I am a follower of Christ! I AM HIS! Every day I am working toward becoming a better Disciple! I will NEVER be perfect - but I am SAVED; so that is all that matters!!

HE DID THIS FOR YOU!!!

Don't let it all be pointless.....

I started out being raised Catholic and was in the Catholic Church until I went away to college. When I reached college, I wasn't in any church. Sadly enough I belonged to "being free". After college, I went to a Methodist Church for about 2 years. Then I began to go to a Church of Christ for almost 12 years. I went to different Church of Christ buildings in different towns, but they were all Church of Christ. Now, I have been attending a Christian Church for almost 8 years. So...what do I believe?
Well, looking at that track record, you would probably say that I was a church hopper; or that I didn't know what I wanted. You would be partially right.
I was raised in the Catholic Church so I attended the church because I had to. I was not in it for me, nor was I in it for God. I did it cause mom and dad said so.
When I was attending the Methodist Church, I did so because that is where my husband went. It was similar to the Catholic faith and it was close to home. So it made sense to go there. Again, it wasn't for me, nor was it for God.
The Church of Christ started out as me going because it was the only place I knew anyone. We had moved to Wisconsin and I didn't know a soul, but had family that went to church there. So, seemed like the logical thing to do. It started out as just me attending church to get to know other people in that area and get my kids some good friends to hang with. It soon became a real eye opener for me! I realized that my whole life, as far as church was concerned, I went out of convenience or loyalty to others. I did not go for me, nor did I go for God. So, I decided to change that!
I started to actually pay attention and try to learn something. Once I opened up to the Word of God, I realized soooooo much more!! It was scary really!! I will not share the whole story now, cause I am writing a book. However, it changed this life that I am living for the better and I have never looked back. The foundation I received from opening myself up to God's Word is one that is still with me today.
After years of being at the Church of Christ, I started to feel as though I needed to expand my spiritual knowledge and share it with others.
I found a Christian Church that I did not fall in love with right away. It was in the process and being established and I was not impressed. So, I decided to keep my daughters at home and study with them. I attended a few Bible studies, but other than that, we did not attend a church anywhere. This did not last long because I felt lost immediately.
I started back up at that same Christian Church and decided to give it another shot. Guess what happened? I opened myself up to God and this time, HE ROCKED MY WORLD! I became more aware of what God wanted out of me and what He expected of me. Once I allowed Him to use me, as He intended to all along, I became more stable in my faith.
I have grown so much as a Christian, but better yet.... I AINT DONE GROWING!! I have much to learn still and I can feel God's love all around me now. I absolutely love studying God's Word with others! I love being at church and feeling the energy! I love the support I receive there! It is important that where you go to worship supports you in your growth with Jesus Christ!
So.....What do I believe?
I believe in Jesus Christ, the ONLY Son of God! I believe in the Word of God and that it is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH! I believe that we need to follow His Word and be obedient! I believe that we need to be baptized! I believe that it takes sacrifice and passion to be a disciple of Christ! Whether I learned that in a Methodist, Catholic, Baptist, Christian, Church of Christ, or any other building is irrelevant. Those titles mean nothing to God! Yes, some congregations do not teach the Word of God; some mislead you.
The first thing I had to realize was that we are not suppose to attend church for ourselves!! That's right folks! We should not go to church and try to get something out of it for ourselves. God will give to us, but only after we give to Him. We have to be willing to be used and for His good, not ours! BUT - no matter where you are going; if you do not OPEN YOURSELF UP TO GOD, it will all be pointless!!

Amen girlfriend! The moment we start treating church like it is supposed to cater to us, the moment we move to worshiping self over worshiping God. And, in that, He is NEVER pleased. Preach it, girlfriend.
